Townsville Intercultural Centre is a not for profit community organisation which has been operating for over 30 years with the primary purpose of settling newly arrived refugees and migrants into the Townsville region.  We provide practical support and education for individuals, assist in the development of emerging communities, deliver projects with impressive employment outcomes, offer support for the mental health and well-being of our clients and assist youth in their education and development. Our organisation also works with local Indigenous communities and administers a number of projects to support these communities.  Social inclusion and support for culturally and linguistically diverse people is our focus.  Townsville Intercultural Centre also presents an annual five-day cultural festival which attracts over 45,000 visitors.  Over 200 cultural and community groups are involved in the festival which demonstrates our involvement in the community.  Our festival website has been included in the government archives as an example of an event that encapsulates the essence of cultural diversity.
